BILLINGS POLICE INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION
The Billings Police Department’s Investigations Division consists of general detectives, the Identification Division, and the Evidence Division. Investigators are also assigned to Rocky Mountain HIDTA, The Intermountain West Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, The Montana Violent Offender Task Force, as well as Task Force Officers assigned to the ATF and DEA.
The general detectives investigate all major crimes against people or property. These crimes include homicide, aggravated assaults, sex crimes, robberies and burglaries. Our detectives are cross-trained and handle all crime scene processing.
