Monument and Marker Requirements
To ensure uniform appearance, safety, and long-term maintenance, all monuments and markers placed within Mountview Cemetery must comply with the following requirements. Families are encouraged to review these guidelines carefully before purchasing or installing any monument.
General Regulations
A maximum of two markers per grave is allowed (one head marker and one foot marker), except in cremation sections, which have different requirements.
No items may be set in foundation concrete other than approved flower receptacles.
All monuments and markers must be installed in accordance with cemetery setting instructions.
Grave Type Requirements
Single Graves
Marker Type: Flat marker only
Footstone: Allowed (flat only)
Maximum Marker Size: 12 inches × 24 inches (1’ × 2’)
Placement: Head of grave, with optional flat footstone
Infant Sections
Marker Type: Flat marker only
Footstones: Not permitted
Maximum Marker Size: 10 inches × 20 inches
Cremation Section
Marker Type: Flat marker only
Footstones: Not applicable
Maximum Sizes:
Single grave: 8 inches × 12 inches
Double grave: 12 inches × 24 inches
Triple grave: 12 inches × 48 inches
Upright Monument Regulations
Upright monuments are permitted only in approved sections and must meet all size and placement requirements.
Placement: Centered over two or more graves, positioned at the head end
Minimum Height: 28 inches
Maximum Height: 42 inches
Exceptions: Upright monuments are not permitted in:
Cremation Section
Section 7
Section 16
Infant Sections

All monuments must be purchased from or installed by an approved monument company. The following companies are authorized to perform monument work at Mountview Cemetery:
