
Every user of the road has an equal right to be there and safety on the roadways begins with all of us. Whether a person is walking, riding a bike, or driving a car safety should be the number one concern.
In order to ensure everyone is safe on the road every user must be aware of and courteous to each other.

Montana Law
Right-of-Way For Bicycles
(1) The operator of a motor vehicle may not: (a) intentionally interfere with the movement of a person who is lawfully riding a bicycle; or (b) overtake and pass a person riding a bicycle unless the operator of the motor vehicle can do so safely without endangering the person riding the bicycle.
(2) The operator of a motor vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a person who is riding a bicycle within a designated bicycle lane.

Dooring Law
Montana requires that no person open a door of a motor vehicle unless it is reasonably safe to do so without interfering with the movement of other traffic. In addition, no person may leave a door open on a side of a vehicle adjacent to moving traffic for a period of time longer than is necessary to load or unload passengers.
