Affidavit to Claim Excuse
Failure to report for Jury Duty could result in a fine pursuant to section § 3-15-321 M.C.A.. If for any reason you are requesting to be excused from jury duty with the Billings Municipal Court due to undue hardship it may cause you, you must fill out the JURY REQUEST FOR EXCUSAL form, that can be found here or on the back bottom portion of your summons, and mail it to:
Any excusal requests must be submitted to the court, in writing, by 5 PM, 7 days before your Jury Summons Date. If you are mailing your Affidavit for Excusal, please keep in mind that it takes a couple of days to reach the court.
Please note that you are not officially excused until you receive verbal or written confirmation.

You can also come down to the court and fill out the Jury Excusal Form. Excusal is not guaranteed. The court will notify you in regards to your request.

If you are requesting excusal, please fill out the form on the back of your jury summons or use the form found on this page and return it to the court by 5pm, 7 days before the trial you were summoned for.
