The City of Billings Police Department provides animal control services to the citizens of the City of Billings. Managed by an Animal Control Supervisor, animal control has a staff of five animal control officers, and a senior office assistant.
The main function of animal control is to enforce the animal control laws of the City of Billings. The animal control officers respond to over 5,000 calls for service each year; including but not limited to
- animal bites
- cruelty to animals which includes neglected or abandoned animals
- dangerous animals
- noisy animals
- small animals at large
- wildlife loose in the city
