Bid Title: Parking Garage Restoration/Preservation Engineering Services
Category: Professional Services
Status: Closed
Bid Recipient: Tracy Scott, Parking Manager, (406) 237-6188, or scottt@ci.billings.mt.us

Description:

This project will repair the City’s three (3) cast-in-place concrete and steel parking garages and thereby extend their useful lives.  The City historically evaluates the conditions and repairs its parking garages every 5-7 years.  In 2013, the City of Billings commissioned Walker Restoration Consultants to conduct a condition audit of all 3 garages.  The previous audit and restoration work was conducted in 2006. Walker’s report, dated January, 2014, identifies concrete repairs, concrete waterproofing and miscellaneous repairs in each garage.  FY 2016 funds were used to repair the most serious concrete/steel deficiencies.  FY 2017 funds were budgeted for Phase 2 repairs in all three garages. Phase 3 is scheduled for FY 2018 if funds are available.  The City requires engineering design services to prepare specifications and drawings for bidding the Phase 2 and 3 repairs, assisting with competitively bidding the restoration work, monitoring construction activities, reviewing shop drawings, issuing responses to RFIs, testing materials to ensure that they meet design specifications and inspecting and certifying completed project work.
