Special Requirements:
All bids and contracts submitted under this invitation shall comply with the Provision of Article 13-500 Billings, MT City Code unless modified in the contract documents.Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond payable to the City of Billings, Montana, in an amount not less than ten percent of the total amount of the bid. Successful bidders shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and a labors and materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract amount. Insurance, as required, shall be provided by the successful bidder(s) and a certificate(s) of that insurance shall be provided. All laborers and mechanics employed by contractors or subcontractors in performance of the construction work shall be paid wages at rates as required by the laws of the State of Montana. The contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
Miscellaneous:
There will be a non-mandatory pre-bid conference at the Office of the City Engineer Tuesday, May 20, 2008, 11:00 a.m. The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals received, to waive informalities, to postpone the award of the contract period not to exceed sixty days and to accept the bid, which is in the best interests of the City of Billings, Montana.
