Instead of a ship in a bottle, we’re making galaxies! Use some basic crafting supplies to make a tiny replica galaxy nebula, and take it home with you.
Each child will sign up for one 15 minute time with a dog of their choice. Sign up happens on the day of the program. READ to a Dog program is a chance for children to read to a dog one on one. Sometimes, children may have a difficult time reading, and reading to a dog can bring a feeling of non-judgment, which makes reading a more relaxing and fun experience. With bringing the Intermountain Therapy dogs here, it creates that relaxed feeling in a safe and comfortable environment. READ to a Dog is an affiliate program of Reading Education Assistance Dogs® of Intermountain Therapy Animals of Salt Lake City, Utah. We thankfully recognize the Otto and Yvonne Mansfield Endowment at St. Vincent Healthcare Foundation for providing the funding for this program. The Mansfields had a great love of animals and would be very pleased to support READ. We would also like to thank the Billings Public Library Foundation for coordinating the efforts of making this gift possible.
Join us as Billings writer Carrie La Seur talks about writing her award-winning debut novel, the book's story, the publishing process and her current writing projects.
The Billings Public Library is pleased to bring you this special tour for the 2nd year! Sponsored in part by Portland Art Museum's NW Film Center, LAIKA Studios, and the Oregon Cultural Trust, each year the Festival brings together artists from around the Northwest to showcase their films. The films on tour represent the best of the Festival's short subject films. The films represent a range of styles, everything from documentaries to experimental film and animation to fictional narratives. You're sure to find something you like or something to think about!
